| Preserving Your Google Adsense Account |
|
The key to preserving your account is to be sure to follow the rules of the program. In addition, you want to make sure that you're not getting involved with illegal, illicit, or just plain stupid schemes to get your account banned. What am I talking about? Well, many publishers realize, after the fact, that they're not supposed to click on their own ads, they're not supposed to tell their friends or family to click on their ads, and they're not supposed to join networks or programs where people coordinate with each other to click on their ads. The reason for this? Well, they're not targeted clicks, and the person who is paying for that click obviously isn't going to get anything out of it, because you have no interest in that business's product or service, you only clicked to make you or your friend some money. Google isn't stupid. They have several techniques that they can use to detect what is called "click fraud", where people are clicking on the Google Adsense ads improperly. Now this isn't to say that you can't go to another website, where you have a genuine interest in the product or service, and click on a real ad that you, as a consumer, might wish to know more about. Well, that's why these people are advertising; they want you to come visit, because they want to sell you something. It isn't rocket science, unless you're visitng a NASA content website that talks about rockets and the science behind it. It's all about honesty and integrity, which is what people expect when they're doing business. Imagine if you're a flyer delivery person, and a company pays you to deliver 1,000 to 1,000 homes, and instead of dropping those advertisements off at those homes, you instead throw them all in the dumpster, and tell the boss that you delivered them all. Wouldn't it suck for you, if you were the business owner, and your advertising budget was wasted because of your actions? Well, the analogy might suck, but the reasoning is the same. Advertisers want to get a return for their investment. They're not there to line your pockets with money because you're getting click happy at the idea of making money with the Adsense program. Also, try to avoid joing other questionable programs, such as autosurf websites, as this is also against the TOS. Because these sites do nothing more than inflate traffic statistics, there is no value to them or to Google's clients. Therefore, it is possible that being a member of these programs can affect your Adsense account. Take care not to get mixed up with the wrong people and wrong ideas when it comes to your Google Adsense account, and do the right things to promote your website and your content, and the money will come...honestly. |

Many Google Adsense publishers have a very clear understanding of how Google's terms of service (TOS) works. They understand, because most of the information contained in it, is common ad-sense.
